Jenna Allen is passionate about communicating nutrition science in an approachable way, helping people find the balance between good nutrition and the soul-satisfying pleasure of delicious dishes - understanding that they can be one in the same. She has been with Dairy MAX (and Western Dairy Association before the merge) since 2008, when she came on board after completing an internship and falling in love with all things dairy foods and dairy farming. Jenna has a bachelor’s degree in dietetics and a master’s in food science and human nutrition from Colorado State University. Jenna received the 2019 Colorado Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Outstanding Dietitian of the Year Award. One food you’d want on a desert island:
Chocolate milk – for hydration, protein and key nutrients. And of course, because it tastes great!
Your food/nutrition mentor growing up:
My parents – they both worked full-time and always managed to get healthy, home-cooked and delicious meals on the table. My mom planned the week’s menus and went to the grocery store, and it was my dad that cooked most of our weeknight meals.
Beyond nourishment, food is one of life’s greatest pleasures!
