Marley Oldham Carnes, M.S., RDN, LD, CSCS, CPT (Texas)
Program Coordinator, Health and Wellness
Marley Carnes was always passionate about nutrition and fitness, so her profession feels more like a hobby she loves rather than a job. With a Bachelor of Science in dietetics and a Master of Science in nutrition, she’s is also a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, ACSM Personal Trainer, CrossFit Level 1 Coach, and ACE Group Fitness Instructor. Marley has worked in variety of settings over the past ten years. She has worked as a trainer and diet tech for Jim White Fitness & Nutrition, deployed 9 months at sea as a “Fit Boss” with the Navy, worked overseas in Japan, and served as a Fitness and Sports Director at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Ca. When she heard about the opportunity at Dairy MAX, she knew it would be the perfect fit – especially since she’d become the favorite of her father-in-law, a retired fourth-generation dairy farmer. Marley loves being plugged into her community and has done numerous volunteer positions with organizations such as the LIFT Foundation, YMCA, and enjoys partnering with local emergency responders, battered women’s shelters, and food pantries.
Favorite healthy breakfast:
I’m addicted to cereal with milk, and it is a bonus if I can add frozen blueberries and pecans!
Weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten:
At Texas A&M, I took a popular “bug” science class, and we tried Chocolate Chirpy Brownies and Fire Ant Chocolate Bark. I skipped the Meal Worm Pizza. Anything with chocolate can’t be too terrible, right?
Best advice you’ve ever received:
Always give your best at whatever you do, and do more than what is simply asked. – My Dad
