Dairy MAX proudly announces the launch of its 12th annual blood donation initiative, Passion for Pints. As this program enters its twelfth year, it remains a vital source of community support, addressing the critical need for local blood donation during the summer months when blood centers face heightened demand.
Originally conceived by the Oklahoma dairy community in 2013 to support National Dairy Month activities, Passion for Pints has since expanded to encompass Texas, Colorado and New Mexico. In 2023 more than 400 individual blood drives were hosted, highlighting dairy farmers' passion to serve their local communities. A total of 13,465 units were donated during last year’s Passion for Pints blood drives, potentially impacting the lives of more than 40,000 people. Over the past 11 years, Dairy MAX and regional blood center partners have partnered to host nearly 3,000 blood drives.
“Dairy farmers are deeply committed to giving back to their local communities,” said John Cass, Dairy MAX director of industry image and relations. “Passion for Pints showcases the dedication dairy farmers have to helping meet needs within their communities.”
Beyond their contributions to Passion for Pints blood drives, dairy farmers demonstrate leadership as stewards of our environment, caring for their land and animals, while providing communities with delicious and nutritious milk, cheese and yogurt. Dairy MAX is honored to play a role in Passion for Pints and recognize the commitment of our farmers during National Dairy Month.
Numerous blood donation stations across Colorado, New Mexico, western Oklahoma and Texas will be participating in Passion for Pints through June 30. To express appreciation for donors’ contributions, giveaway items including a commemorative t-shirt, stress-relief squeeze cows and delicious dairy recipes will be distributed at select locations.
