Paola Llerena has been fascinated by the idea of food as medicine ever since meeting the dietitian who counseled her father about his heart health. She went on to become a registered dietitian nutritionist and licensed dietitian herself. Also certified in training adult weight management and board certified as a specialist in pediatric nutrition, Paola
has led food and nutrition programs in school districts, hospitals and other health care organizations, including DaVita, Morrison Healthcare and University Medical Center of El Paso. She joined Dairy MAX in June 2022, bringing more than 20 years’ experience as well as two nutrition degrees: a Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science from Lamar University. Originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, Paola now lives in El Paso, Texas, where she served for some time in the Junior League. She and her husband, German, love to travel and have two daughters and three dogs.
