Jennifer holds a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She is board certified in Family Practice by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She also maintains specialty certification in Urologic Nursing. 

Jennifer enjoys caring for patients across the lifespan. She has practiced in a wide variety of healthcare settings including acute care, hematology-oncology, hospice, urology, publishing, home health, family practice and most recently, primary care, with Medical Leaders & Nephrology Leaders at Sweeny Medical Clinic. She enjoys the challenges associated with primary care and putting the pieces together for complete wellness.   

Jennifer is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and their Obesity special interest group as well as Texas Nurse Practitioners and their nominations committee and conference presenter. She was instrumental in developing Brazosport Area Nurse Practitioners, which is a growing affiliate of Texas Nurse Practitioners. She is currently serving a second term as their president. She is also a member of Houston Area Nurse Practitioners and Houston Obesity Partnership for Education. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nurses and the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates.   

Jennifer has a special interest in obesity and its effects on our overall health. She is an active member of the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA), serving on their NP/PA committee. She holds Certification of Advanced Education in Obesity from OMA. She is also involved in many community care aspects of obesity management and prevention. You will often find Jennifer walking whenever & wherever she can during her workday.  She also strives for healthy meal choices, as she feels it is important to model healthy behavior. 

Jennifer’s philosophy is one of creating an individualized plan of care with an emphasis on health promotion. As an avid runner and Pilates instructor, she promotes healthy and sustainable approaches to weight management and physical fitness. She speaks regularly in her community on health promotion and lifestyle modifications that can improve and promote a healthier quality of life.    

Jennifer strives to be a resource for NP students and colleagues alike. She works tirelessly to promote and expand the nurse practitioner role.
