Jayce Winters

Director, Preparedness and Response

Kansas

Jayce Winters didn’t think she’d land in the agricultural industry, as she was drawn toward communications – but she grew up working on a ranch in western Kansas and found she couldn’t escape her passion for the people who raise our food. Both loves came into harmony through a Bachelor of Science in agriculture media and communication from West Texas A&M University, plus minors in animal science and mass communication. Jayce then built up 10 years of experience in public relations working for Plains Cotton Cooperative Association, Cattle Empire and Texas Cattle Feeders Association before joining Dairy MAX in September 2022. In her spare time, Jayce also uses her advocacy skills to speak up for children who have experienced abuse and neglect as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). She and her husband, Brandon, have two children and live in Ulysses, Kansas.

Favorite physical activity: Anything outdoors, hiking and chasing my kids.

One food you’d want if stranded on a desert island: Macaroni and cheese.

Your food/nutrition mentor growing up: My dad raised our food, and he also did the majority of the cooking in our home. He was and is one of the most creative cooks I know. I think he truly appreciates every part of the process of getting our food from farm to table – and then using the energy it provides us to get up and do it all again.
